Curse you Google! You make us so darned stupid! Wait. What about the other search engines? Like Yahoo? Bing? Or on-line encyclopedias? Does Wikipedia make us stupid? NO. Much like Nicholas Carr's response. He doesn't blame Google or other search engines. The article is more based on the cognitive effect of those on the internet.

I disagree with the statement that Google makes us stupid. The amount of information that we literally have at our fingertips is incredible. For example, when I google Google, the results include a total estimate of the amounts of pages and it includes how fast the information comes up.

Another example of how the internet comes in handy is when a cute girl tells you that she is majoring in Cognitive Neuroscience. Now you can quickly google 'cognotive nurosceince' and not only will Google understand that you actually meant 'Cognitive Neuroscience' and then you can get a few talking points and then possibly dinner.

Google is our friend. Not something that will make us stupid.
