You want some bias with that news?

It is really hard not to be biased on some things. Like the news! Mostly, the class gets their news from websites like the New York Times and other sources. Those sources are not unbiased. A few of my classmates and myself mentioned bias in our responses to the previous bog post. I even mentioned Fox News, which is oddly popular considering the amount of bias in it. I found that my classmates mostly like to stay away from the biased, one sided, or "sensationalist[ic]" stories.

Not all of us like to look online for news. There's even one student in our class who likes to learn his random facts via Snapple cans (*cough cough Kyle Sunderman*). In fact, I know a few of my floor mates read USA Today. Thus, everyone has their own method of finding out what is happening in the world.

As far as civic literacy goes, I think that the aforementioned proves the point that most of my classmates, along with myself, are defending. The technology that we have is not, making the civic literacy go down. It is making it go up.
